Vinay Genelia pairing in next film

He is like a long lost actor who disappeared after ‘Modhi Vilayadu’. Vinay who made an impressive debut in Kollywood with 'Unnale Unnale' was touted to be the new chocolate boy who would get into Madhavan's shoes.

But lady luck had other plans and Vinay was at her mercy. Even the successful family entertainer ‘Jayam Kondaan’ did not help him much. But Vinay has got a second chance and he hopes to get his things right this time.

Shankar's former assistant and producer-director Madhesh who was waiting for Vijay's call sheet for long has settled for Vinay for his next film. It is a dream offer for Vinay. Madhesh has also roped Genelia to be the leading lady of the film. Santhanam and Ganja Karuppu are also in the film that has finally ended up as a star value film.

An old Rajinikanth film title is being considered and Madhesh is running around to get the required permission to re-use the old title.

Anushka to romance with Vikram and Simbu

Looks like Anushka is all set to romance Vikram. For, sources say the yoga tutor turned actress has signed a film with the 'Cheeyan' which would be directed by Vijay of 'Madrasapattinam' fame.

It is said that the director met the actress when she was in Chennai recently for her another upcoming film 'Vaanam' and narrated the story and the importance of her character.

"Impressed by it, Anushka immediately expressed her consent to be a part of the film. This will be her first film with Vikram and she is thrilled about the project", sources add.

Anushka, who has acted in Tamil with Madhavan, Vijay and Suriya, is a top actress in Tollywood. Impressed by her performance in 'Arundhathee', Silambarasan has roped in her for 'Vaanam'.

More films are ready for release

Nearly 70 small, medium and big movies  are ready for release in Tamil! Some of them have been lying in the film box for months, as there are no takers.

The latest from Kollywood is that producers of these films are making one last attempt to release their films this year itself.

The producers have 10 Fridays left in 2010 from October 29 to December 31, to release their films. Nobody wants to delay the release as situation next year may be different, and trends may change.

There are far too many little known small films with mainly newcomers to be listed here. Let us take a look at star movies ready for release this year. Dhanush has Uthamaputhran confirmed on November 5 for Diwali and either Aadukalam or Maapillai  for December 24

Suriya has Raktha Sarithram confirmed on November 19. Younger brother Karthi is targeting December 3 or 10 to release his Siruthai. Jiiva's Singam Puli  is ready for release on November 19 or 26. 

Arya has announced that his Chikku Bukku would hit the screens on Nov 19 or 26. Jayam Ravi's Engeyum Kathal may come on December 3.

However, the biggest release in December is going to be Kamal Hasaan's Manmathan Ambu ready for release on December 17.

Vijay is trying hard to release his Kaavalan on Dec 24 for Christmas. Meanwhile Simbu and his producer Ganesh has said that they will release their Vaanam  on December 31.
